A figure of a member of the medical service of US naval aviation from the period of 1941 to 1945, worked up in 1:32 scale by the brand Black Dog. The medical service stood by alongside the fire service and was part of the everyday operations on flight areas and on decks alike.
A believable placing is by a stretcher, by a bag set down on the ground or walking toward an aircraft. A static version works well too: the figure stands and watches the goings-on, hands loose at the sides. Not every figure in a display has to be doing something; on the contrary, a calm figure in the background will accentuate the active one in the foreground. If you are building a scene with a damaged machine, a medic will give it tension without a single further detail.
Medical clothing was usually lighter than ordinary working flight suits, which complicates the painting: white and light gray areas reveal every unevenness of the surface. Before you reach for the paint, go over the figure against side light and level out any traces of manufacture. Apply the base in several very thin layers, because one thick layer will flood the fine folds. Choose a shadow toward blue-gray rather than brown, as the latter shows up on light fabrics as dirt.
