1:35 US soldier in Iraq N°1 is a single figure of an American soldier from the Iraq deployment, the first of a pair of numbered figures in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A single figure from the modern Black Dog line, focused on the Iraqi operations after 2003. The sequence number in the name suggests that the figure has a continuation in the same sub-range, so it can be bought on its own or as part of a pair that keeps both the style and the scale together.
An Iraqi diorama differs from an Afghan one in the material of the setting. Instead of mud walls and mountain tracks, concrete dominates here: dividing barriers, panel fences, curbs, broken asphalt and dust settled on smooth surfaces. That very difference is rewarding, because cold gray concrete separates the warm sand tones of the equipment nicely and the figure stands out from the background at once.
In an urban setting the light is harder than in open country, so you can allow yourself a more pronounced difference between lit and shaded areas. Lead the shadow under the helmet, under the body armor and in the bend of the knees. Dose the dust sparingly and only from below, because in a built-up area it rises from the ground and practically never reaches the shoulders. The soles of the boots, by contrast, can be dirtied heavily.
