This set from the Czech maker Eduard is made by direct 3D printing from resin and contains four ETC 50 racks fitted with small bombs for a model of the Avia S-199 fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane kit in its own right but a detail accessory that completes the armament and the external load of the model. Thanks to 3D printing the parts have very fine detail and a minimum of casting marks.
The Avia S-199 was a postwar Czechoslovak fighter derived from the airframe of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 fitted with a Junkers Jumo engine, because the original power units were not available. The S-199 machines became known above all as the first fighters of the newly formed Israeli Air Force (IAF) in 1948. The ETC racks made it possible to carry a light bomb load.
Wash the print resin residue off the resin parts and separate them carefully from the print supports. Sand with respiratory protection. Bond the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the racks and the bombs separately and fit them under the wing or the fuselage according to the variant being built.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
