An accessory set in 1:32 scale: a German SC 50 aircraft bomb of the Second World War together with a transport crate. Suited to an airfield scene beside an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The SC 50 bomb was among the most common German aerial armament of the Second World War. The number 50 gives the weight class in kilograms, not the caliber. Smaller bombs were hung several at a time and were brought to the airfields in crates, from which the ground personnel took them only shortly before loading. A crate and a bomb therefore belong together naturally on an airfield apron.
The set adds ammunition and its packaging to the scene around an aircraft model. It is exactly such details that give an airfield apron life: a bomb ready to be hung, an open crate beside it, and perhaps ground personnel in the background. In 1:32 scale the parts are large enough to make it worth finishing the stencils and the scuffed spots as well. The exact number of parts is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry. Cut any excess material and traces of manufacture away a little distance from the part with a sharp blade and sand the surface with fine abrasive paper. Choose the glue to match the material of the parts. The bomb takes a smooth spray coat and light grime, while the wooden crate comes alive under a dry brush that brings out the texture of the planks.
For modelers who build an airfield scene around an aircraft. Unless stated otherwise, the aircraft model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery.
