Resin engine cowling for the Fw-190D-9, the Mimetall variant (1:32) from Quickboost. A drop-in replacement for the nose cowling, for capturing the production variant faithfully.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin detail accessory in 1:32 scale from the Quickboost range (part of the Czech firm Aires). It represents the front engine cowling of the Focke-Wulf Fw-190D-9 fighter in the Mimetall production variant. Different subcontractors made the nose cowling of the Dora with small differences in shape and panels, and this set captures the Mimetall variant.
The Fw-190D-9 with its inverted V12 Jumo 213 engine had a lengthened nose and a characteristic cowling. Rendering a particular production variant faithfully matters when building an accurate model, because the panels and the seams differ. The resin casting offers clean detail and the right shape with no need for complicated work on the plastic.
Wash the mold release agent off the part, separate it from the casting block and check the fit on the nose of the model with a dry test; sand any mating surfaces down gently (with respiratory protection). It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Spray it with a primer before painting.
A resin accessory, not a complete model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
