An add-on air intake for the engine cowling of an Fw 190D-9 model in 1:48 scale from the Quickboost range.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Fw 190D-9 is a late version of the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighter, set apart from the older machines by its lengthened nose. Instead of the radial it received the Jumo 213 V12 with an annular radiator in front of it, so it kept a cylindrical nose outline. The air intake on the engine cowling is conspicuous, and it is exactly that part that kits tend to simplify or blank off.
A replacement air intake in 1:48 scale for Fw 190D-9 models. The opening is open and the walls are thinner than an injection mold allows. Compatibility with a particular kit and the extent of the work on the engine cowling are given by the manufacturer in the instructions.
The parts are not polystyrene, so glue them with cyanoacrylate glue or with epoxy, which gives you more time to align them. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder flush with the engine cowling. Before painting, wash them in lukewarm soapy water and degrease them. Paint the inside of the opening before you seat the part and leave it darker, so that the opening looks deep. Check the transition from the part into the fuselage by looking against the light, and fill and sand any gap before you apply the primer.
The aircraft kit, the paints, the glue and the decals are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
