The MD 500D is a light single-engine helicopter with an unmistakable egg-shaped cabin and a slender tail boom. Machines of this line proved themselves in civil operation as well as with military users, who were suited by their agility and undemanding operation. In Finnish service they belonged among the light machines used for liaison and training flights.
This is a decal sheet for a model of the MD 500D helicopter in Finnish national insignia in 1:144 scale. How many markings the sheet covers and how the individual motifs are laid out is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Decals hold best on a smooth glossy base, so coat the model with gloss clear varnish before applying them. Cut the motif out close to the edge, immerse it for a few seconds in lukewarm water and let it rest until the carrier film releases from the paper. Once slid onto the model, draw the surplus water off with a soft cloth and level any wrinkling over raised details with a softener. Once it has dried perfectly, unify the surface with matte or semi-gloss clear so that the edges of the carrier film disappear.
The sheet will be appreciated by modelers in small scales who want to finish a helicopter in a less usual Nordic marking. The kit, paints, clear coats and softener are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
