A set of water-slide decals in 1:35 scale from Star Decals. It is not a model but a marking sheet on its own, meant for diorama accessories, above all steel drums. The subject is the company logos and labels of well-known oil and fuel brands.
The sheet holds the logos and lettering of the brands Wolf's Head, Valvoline, Castrol, Total, Q8 Oils, BP, Gulf and Elf. These markings bring drums, jerrycans and steel containers on dioramas or in the surroundings of fuel points and workshops to life. The variety of logos makes it possible to put together a varied and credible scene with commercial graphics.
Paint the drums first and give them a coat of gloss varnish, onto which a decal seats better and will not silver. Dip the design in lukewarm water for a few seconds and slide it onto the curved surface once it has softened. On cylindrical shapes a decal softener will help the film to wrap the shell perfectly. Finally even everything out with a matte or satin varnish and, if you like, paint in some weathering.
This is a marking sheet on its own. The drums, the paints and the varnish are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
