Decals 1:35 - insignia of Sturmgeschütz units, part 1 hold generic insignia and unit markings of German assault guns.
Responsibility details are not available.
This Star Decals set in 1:35 scale brings generic insignia and unit markings for German assault guns. It is the first part of a numbered series; what exactly sets the individual parts apart does not follow from the name itself. The model is not included.
The assault gun battalions came into being as support for the infantry and belonged organizationally to the artillery, not to the tank forces. Their vehicles therefore carried a system of markings of their own: the battalion insignia, the battery insignia, the tactical number and a range of supplementary symbols whose form differed from unit to unit. A set of generic insignia is useful to a modeler precisely because it lets him mark a machine even when a legible tactical number is missing on a particular photograph.
The insignia of the battalions were most often placed on the sides of the superstructure, on the front plate and on the fenders, and the tactical numbers then on the side armor or on the side skirts. Before laying them down, even the area out with gloss varnish and work one design at a time, because small insignia will no longer shift on a dried surface. At the end, matte the whole thing down and dust the markings lightly, so that they do not look freshly stuck onto an otherwise weather-beaten vehicle.
