The Riveter Triple riveting wheel in the 0.50 mm version, for regular rows of imitation rivets on the surface of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The riveting wheel is used to create a regular row of small depressions on a smooth surface of a model. Once painted and picked out it looks like a riveted joint and transforms a large smooth area on which the eye otherwise has nothing to catch. It is surface work that happens before painting and cannot be made up for later.
The value in the name distinguishes the versions within the range. A higher number means coarser work, so the 0.50 mm version gives a more pronounced and sparser result than the 0.40 mm version. It suits places where the riveting is to stay clearly visible even after painting, that is mainly on larger scales and on surfaces that carry little other detail. The exact dimensions and the intended use of the individual versions are stated by the manufacturer.
Run the stroke smoothly and with even pressure, rather on the light side; you will add depth more reliably with a second pass than with greater force. A ruler keeps the line straight, and on curves a flexible strip laid along the shape. It pays to try every row on an offcut of the same plastic first, because harder plastic calls for different pressure than soft plastic. Level the raised edges with a light pass of fine sandpaper and clean the dust off the surface before painting.
The 0.50 mm version suits a modeler who builds in larger scales and wants the riveting distinct even under a coat of paint. Paints, a model and other tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
