The third part of the Italian series from Star Decals is devoted in 1:72 scale to PzKpfw IV medium tanks in the Ausf G and Ausf H versions. The package holds markings that you transfer onto a model already built and painted; the tank itself is not part of it.
The Ausf G was given a long gun barrel, with which a support machine became a full-fledged anti-tank instrument. The Ausf H went on with thicker frontal armor of the hull and in its ordinary form wore Schürzen armor skirts. It is precisely by the Schürzen and by the arrangement of the hatches that the two versions are most easily told apart on a model, which matters for choosing the right markings.
The Schürzen are an area that hardware in Italy often lost, which is why markings appear on them only in part. If you have them on the model, reckon with the fact that a decal will cross the edge of the plate: let a transition like that be backed with water and press it gently from behind with a brush, so that the membrane does not fold. On the edges reach for a stronger softener and let them dry overnight. If a skirt is damaged or missing, transfer the matching insignia onto the neighboring area of the hull, as the real crews did too.
