The Nissan Silvia of the S14 generation gave its name to this deep red from the Number Five automotive palette. On this car red works differently than on European sports cars: the body of the S14 is low, wide and full of soft transitions, so a deep tone emphasizes the side line on it and shows how much the generation grew against its predecessor.

The car the shade comes from

The Silvia S14 was built from 1993 and replaced the popular S13. It received a wider and lower body and, under the hood, a two-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that Japanese builders took to for its willingness to bear modification. During production it went through a change of front end, so an older and a newer form are told apart. What the car is most strongly remembered for, though, is outside production roads: thanks to rear-wheel drive and a balanced build it became one of the pillars of the drift scene, and it is in that role that most modelers know it to this day.
