A resin figure item in 1:35 scale from the Bravo 6 brand. This is not a kit of a vehicle but a figural casting intended for a diorama or for a display case. The name of the set consists only of a date, which with Bravo 6 is part of an established way of naming: the brand commonly uses brief, atmospheric titles instead of a descriptive designation of the contents. Neither the number of figures nor their equipment can therefore be read from the name; they are stated on the box.
Resin cast in a silicone mold holds sharper detail than injection-molded plastic, so the folds of the clothing, the footwear and small items of equipment stand out on the figure. The position of the figure is firmly set by the mold, which means that the composition of the diorama has to be built around it. Before gluing, therefore, stand the figure dry in its intended place and check both the height of the terrain and the direction of view.
Wash the casting in lukewarm water with dish soap so that the mold release agent disappears and let it dry. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw, sand wet and with your airways protected. It is glued with superglue, and gaps should be filled with putty or with superglue with a filler. After a thin primer, start with the large areas and work toward the detail. Winter and early spring scenes paint well in a muted palette, where you work with shadow and reflection rather than with strong color. Oil paints on the fabric, acrylics on the equipment and fine drybrushing on the edges will give the casting depth.
