A decal sheet in 1:35 scale with markings for the British light tracked vehicles of the CVR(T) family from the peacekeeping deployment in Bosnia: the Scimitar, the Spartan and the Sultan.
Responsibility details are not available.
The British CVR(T) family of light tracked vehicles came about as reconnaissance and support hardware that, thanks to its low weight, gets into terrain where a heavy tank bogs down. The Scimitar is the reconnaissance variant with a rotating turret and a 30 mm cannon, the Spartan serves as a small armored personnel carrier for a modest group of soldiers and the Sultan is a command vehicle with a taller box body for working with maps and radio sets. All three stand on a shared chassis, so they complement each other naturally in a cabinet and on a diorama alike.
The markings match the deployment of British hardware in the peacekeeping operations in Bosnia, where the vehicles carried conspicuous recognition signs so as to be unmistakable from a distance. The printing is in 1:35 scale, that is for the most common size of kits of ground hardware.
Apply the elements only onto a painted model covered with gloss varnish. A smooth gloss base is crucial: on a matte and rough surface air stays trapped under the thin layer and the edges then silver. Separate the individual elements with a sharp blade close to the print, so that as little excess area as possible is left. Check the application procedure in the instructions enclosed with the sheet and use a decal softener only where the instructions allow it. Once it has dried, even the surface out with a varnish and only then work with a wash and pigments.
The set is for modelers who build hardware of the more recent period and want markings on a model that match a particular setting, not just a generic filler out of a box. This is a decal sheet; the kit of the vehicle, the paints and the glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
