An accessory for a model of the German Pz.Kpfw IV medium tank in 1:35 scale. It deals with a pair of elements of the upper part of the running gear that are often skimped on models: the return rollers and the support they sit on. The name states the cast type of support and the sequence number 1 within a numbered subseries, so watch both when choosing.
Return rollers carry the upper run of the track between the drive sprocket and the idler wheel. On the Panzer IV they were fixed to supports riveted or welded to the side of the hull and they existed in a welded as well as a cast rendition, and you recognize the cast support by the softer, rounded shapes without sharp weld beads. For a modeler it is a rewarding detail: it lies at the level of the observer's eye, it is not covered by a fender and its shape changed several times during the war.
Cut the original supports off the hull carefully, so that you do not damage the surrounding rivets, and level the surface flat. Fit the new ones according to a side photograph of the subject, because the spacing of the supports is not the same on all versions. Check that the upper run of the track really does rest on the rollers and does not lift anywhere. Painting is easier before the track is glued on, as afterwards you will get into the space between the roller and the hull with a brush only with difficulty.
