The basic Voyager Model 1:35 photo-etched set for the Chinese ZTZ-96 main battle tank is not a model but a brass photo-etched accessory for the Meng TS-034 plastic kit you already own. It adds to the vehicle the thin sheet-metal parts an injection mold cannot manage.

Voyager Model is a Chinese manufacturer of photo-etched accessories, and home-grown subjects are among its strong themes. The set is cut for the plastic kit of the main battle tank given in the product name and deals with the external details for which plastic is too thick in 1:35 scale. The package holds no model of the vehicle but frets of photo-etched brass. The set is meant for the Meng TS-034 kit.
The ZTZ-96, also known as the Type 96, is a main battle tank of the Chinese army, which came about as a complement, available in greater numbers, to the costlier machines of the newer generation. It carries a 125 mm gun with an autoloader, which made it possible to reduce the crew, and it is built as a compromise between protection, firepower and cost for large-scale production. The surface of the vehicle is interesting from the modeling point of view for the side covers over the running gear, the set of external tanks and a series of sheet-metal covers and brackets, that is exactly the features photo-etched parts suit.
The most common mistake with photo-etched parts is not a bad bend but too much glue. On fine parts cyanoacrylate is never applied straight from the bottle; squeeze a drop onto a piece of plastic or foil and take from it with the tip of a pin or a wire. For gluing over an area use a thicker gel version, which does not run into the engraving and leaves a few seconds to straighten a part. Anyone wanting even more time can glue large surfaces with two-part epoxy resin. Excess glue is hard to remove from brass and, once the paint is sprayed on, forms shiny pools you will not get rid of.
This is an add-on set, not a model. The basic plastic kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
