An injection-molded plastic set of figures in 1:35 scale from the range devoted to the Second World War, from Master Box. The set captures German tank crewmen in a quiet moment at a game of Skat, the traditional German card game. It is intended to be assembled and painted; it is not a model of a vehicle but a set of characters for dioramas and display-case scenes.
Skat is a popular German card game, and the name of the set, Die Skatspieler, meaning the Skat players, refers to the everyday rest of soldiers between actions. Genre scenes of rest are among the favorite subjects, because they add a human dimension to combat dioramas. The figures of the tank crewmen suit both as a complement to a model of a German tank and as a scene in their own right.
This is an injection-molded plastic set to be assembled and painted. Separate the parts from the sprue with sharp side nippers and glue them with thin cement for plastic applied with a brush, which draws the joints together nicely. Before painting it pays to spray on a basic primer so that the paint holds better. The faces and the uniforms stand out after painting with a subtle emphasis by a wash and a dry brush; an airbrush as well as a classic brush suits. The characters can be used together as a scene or separately in a diorama.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
