After cleaning and priming, start with the face and the hands, because the skin decides the overall impression of the finished work. Then work from the large areas to the details. If the skin turns out too pink, you will knock it back with a thin brown glaze applied once it has dried. Choose a rather smaller brush, but one with a good point. A matte varnish at the end unifies the surface and hides the differences in sheen between the paints.
