A figure in 1:35 scale from Dynamo-Models, defined in the name as French Commando Kieffer. It is built for dioramas from the Normandy landings and for display scenes in which the French share in the Allied operation is to be represented.
The Kieffer designation refers to the French naval commandos led by Philippe Kieffer, that is to the 1er Bataillon de Fusiliers Marins Commandos. The unit went through British commando training in Scotland, wore the green beret and was attached operationally to the British commandos. On the morning of 6 June 1944 it landed in the Sword beach sector at Ouistreham and was the only French ground unit committed on the day of the landings. What is characteristic of it is the combination of British equipment and weapons with French nationality, which is clearly readable on the figure.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry. If you paint the figure, watch the difference between the green color of the beret and the khaki tone of the battledress, because it is exactly this contrast that sells the whole figure. Webbing and canvas equipment takes dry brushing well, while leather items come out after a dark wash and a light lightening of the edges. In a scene the figure suits a beach, an anti-tank obstacle, a strongpoint or landing craft.
