The decals Weikert Decals 1:35 German Helmet Insignia WWII - LUFTWAFFE serve to mark the helmets of figures of Luftwaffe personnel from the period of the Second World War in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of waterslide decals intended for figures and dioramas in 1:35 scale. It is applied to the helmets of figures of Luftwaffe personnel and replaces the hand painting of small insignia, which at this scale is difficult even for experienced figure painters. It is an accessory for figures, not a model in its own right or a set of figures.
In 1:35 scale an insignia on a helmet is only a few millimeters across, it has sharp edges and it lies on a curved surface. Painting it evenly and without a shake of the hand is practically impossible with ordinary technique. A printed decal has a clean shape and a saturated color, and once matted down it blends with the surface of the helmet so well that it looks painted on. For modelers who build vehicle scenes with crews it is the quickest route to a convincing result.
Paint the figure first and let it dry, then go over the spot for the decal with gloss varnish. Cut the design out close, dip it for a moment in lukewarm water and let it rest until the film moves freely. Transfer it with tweezers, guide it into place with a damp brush and draw the excess water off with a cotton bud. On the round surface of a helmet use a softener, so that the film draws down to the shape without creases. Once dry, matte it down and, if you like, work it into the overall patina of the scene.
It is a decal sheet, not figures. Figures, paints, glue and varnish are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
