Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German late-war Rheinmetall-Borsig Waffentrager weapons carrier in 1:35 scale from I Love Kit. It is a sizeable kit with a large number of parts, photo-etched items and individual track links. The box contains instructions and decals. Thanks to its low mounting and massive gun it is a rewarding and unusual subject for collectors of German vehicles.
The Waffentrager (weapons carrier) was a concept of the end of the Second World War meant to provide a mobile chassis for a heavy anti-tank gun cheaply and quickly. The Rheinmetall-Borsig design was based on a lengthened chassis derived from the Panzer 38(t) with spread-out road wheels and it carried an 8.8 cm gun. The vehicle remained at the prototype stage and never reached series service, so it belongs among the experimental projects of the closing period of the war.
Given the high number of parts, work in subassemblies and finish and paint the running gear before assembly. Use liquid cement for plastic and glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush. The open mounting and the extensive running gear are brought out by washes in the recesses and pigments for mud and dust effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
