These are 3D-printed resin protective intake covers (F.O.D. – Foreign Object Damage covers) of the kind fitted to parked aircraft to protect the engine against foreign objects getting in. It is not an aircraft kit, but a detail accessory for Republic F-105 Thunderchief models in 1:48 scale, ideal for scenes with a parked machine and ground crew.
Fitted intake covers instantly give the model the story of a machine on the ramp and at the same time neatly hide the inside of the air intake. They tend to be strongly colored (typically red with lettering), so they form a striking contrast to a gray camouflage.
Wash the parts free of print resin residue, separate them from the supports and sand the mating surfaces if needed. The covers can be set on the model without gluing for a variable display; use super glue to fix them. Apply a primer before painting.
This is a separate accessory. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
