A figure of a German sniper of the First World War in 1:35 scale, number 2 is a resin casting for painting. It completes figure number 1 from the same range.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second figure out of the range of First World War infantry from the Czech maker Black Dog, cast in resin in 1:35 scale. A different pose makes it possible to stand a pair side by side without the scene repeating itself visually. It is supplied unpainted and unassembled.
In trench warfare a sniper was deployed in pairs with an observer or on his own at a forward position. The look of the figure therefore followed the situation: a firing position, observation with binoculars, or movement along a trench. The gear consisted of a helmet or a field cap, pouches, a gas mask in its case and a rifle with a telescopic sight.
After washing and cutting the casting blocks off, it pays to stand the figure dry in the intended scene first and check how the two figures speak to each other through their gaze and gesture; that decision is hard to change once they are glued down. Paint the uniform of the German infantry in shades of field gray, which in 1:35 scale work better lightened a little, because a small volume reflects less light. Make the transitions with glazes, not with covering coats, or the cast folds will be lost. Set the leather parts of the gear apart with a richer tone and edges with a suggestion of sheen, darken the metal of the rifle and suggest wear only on the edge. Add dust and mud at the very end, so that they match the base.
The figure is supplied unpainted, as a resin casting. Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package.
