A resin figure in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Bravo 6. It depicts a German tank crewman in a quiet moment, capturing a scene with a small camera. It is a figure on its own intended as an accessory to a model of an armored vehicle or for a diorama, not a kit of equipment. The set was issued in 2018.
A casting in hard modeling resin captures finer detail than injection-molded plastic allows: the cut of the tank crewman's overalls and jacket, the folds of the cloth, the cap and the small camera in the hands. The figure is conceived so that it sits well on the hull or the turret of a vehicle, or stands beside it - and that is precisely where it works best as a feature of scale and at the same time gives a static scene a hint of action.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent because of the remains of the release agent from the mold. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutter and sand the surfaces; sand resin wet and with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a thin primer before painting. Dark overalls are easily flattened, so work with marked brightening of the edges and the folds and with a dark wash only into the deepest places. Build the skin up by layering, and the small camera stands out on a dark base with spot highlighting with a dry brush. At the end unify the surface with a matte varnish.
