This is a figure cast in resin in 1:35 scale from the Evolution Miniatures brand. It is neither a kit of a vehicle nor of an aircraft, but a separate figural casting with which a diorama or a display case is completed. The set is supplied unpainted; the number of parts of the casting and its division are stated on the box, so it is a good idea to look the contents of the package over before building.
Resin is cast in silicone molds and therefore holds sharper detail than injection-molded plastic. The folds of fabric, the footwear and the features of the face come out well, that is exactly what the final impression of a figure rests on. The figure is conceived as a civilian subject, so it suits scenes where ordinary life is meant to show beside vehicles. The pose of the figure is set by the casting and cannot be changed, so count on having to adapt the composition of the diorama to the figure rather than the other way round.
Wash the parts first in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap and let them dry thoroughly, otherwise paint will not hold because of residues of the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutter, never break them off. When sanding resin, protect your airways and sand wet. It is glued with superglue, and superglue with a filler or a two-part putty comes in handy for filling gaps. Apply a thin primer before painting, ideally from a spray can or with an airbrush. Paint the figure itself in layers: the flesh by gradual lightening, and the fabric with acrylics or oil paints, which allow smooth transitions and a longer time for blending.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
