This photo-etched detail set is intended for a plastic model of the British Land Rover patrol vehicle in the configuration of the SAS special forces unit, in 1:35 scale. It adds fine elements such as grilles, brackets, screens, equipment mounts and other small details that plastic cannot capture with the right thinness. The set is an accessory, not a kit in its own right.
The British Special Air Service (SAS) used modified Land Rover cross-country vehicles for long-range desert and reconnaissance operations. The vehicles were usually stripped down and heavily loaded with jerrycans, supplies and machine guns for independent operation in the desert. This kind of use follows on from the tradition of the long-range desert patrols of the Second World War.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and make the bends in a bending tool or over a metal edge. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the metal before painting and cover it with a primer. The small brackets and equipment come into their own after a wash and dust pigments.
This is an accessory photo-etched set, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
