Note that this is not a model of a tank but an accessory set. The set from the Upgrade Solution Series is intended for finishing a plastic model of the American medium tank in the M4A3 version with the 76 mm gun, wet ammunition stowage and HVSS running gear, in its early form. It replaces and completes parts that cannot be produced in injected plastic to the necessary fineness. The particular contents of the package, the number of parts and the materials used are stated on the box.
Accessory sets of this type target the places where a plastic model is by its nature simplified: thin sheet metal, brackets, eyes, grilles, screens, small tools and their mounts. The difference is most visible in the silhouette from the side and on the upper surface of the hull, that is where the first look in a display case goes. The set is cut for a particular version of the tank, so before buying check that your base model matches the same version and production period.
Proceed in small groups and always test first whether a new part seats on the model without being forced. Bend photo-etched sheet on a bending tool or at least between two blades and glue it with cyanoacrylate glue in a small amount, so that it does not run onto a visible surface. Cut the original plastic elements off with a sharp scalpel and sand the surface over, otherwise the new part will stand away. Fit the set before you paint the model, and leave small parts that would suffer during handling until the end. After completion, spray the whole model with primer so that the plastic and the metal have a common base.
This is an accessory set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
