An injection-molded plastic kit of the American 5-ton M51A2 dump truck with 6x6 drive in 1:35 scale from the maker AFV Club. The kit offers a positionable tipping bed, steerable front wheels, a detailed cab interior, an elaborate transmission and drive system and a faithfully rendered chassis and suspension. The decals make it possible to build it in markings from the period of the Vietnam War.
The M51A2 is a military 5-ton dump truck from the American M39 series of 6x6 heavy cross-country trucks introduced from the 1950s. Dump trucks of this series served to carry bulk materials, for engineer work and for supply, and they became the backbone of American logistics on many battlefields. It is a rewarding subject for a modeler and also as an accessory to dioramas with a support area.
Finish and paint the chassis, the transmission and the suspension before you assemble the bed, so that the detail shows. Paint the cab interior before the glazing goes in. For weathering, washes into the recesses suit well, along with dust and mud pigments on the wheels and the chassis and a light bringing out of the edges of the bed.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
