M551 Sheridan - photo-etched parts and metal gun barrel 1:35 from the maker Tamiya is an add-on set for making a model of the light tank more accurate, holding a turned aluminum barrel and photo-etched parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is NOT a model of the tank but an add-on set for a plastic kit of the light tank M551 Sheridan in 1:35 scale. It replaces the parts that cannot be made in plastic with the corresponding fineness: the barrel section is turned from aluminum and has the detail of the bore worked into the muzzle, while the photo-etched parts bring thin-walled grilles and covers that would look coarse in plastic. The set comes from the production of Tamiya, that is of a Japanese maker, and belongs to its range of accessories for military models.
The metal barrel has to be degreased before gluing and painting, ideally with alcohol, and given a primer meant for metal, otherwise the paint holds badly. Separate the photo-etched parts from the fret with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, not with nippers, otherwise they will bend. Make the bends over a metal ruler or in a photo-etch bender and glue them with cyanoacrylate or with thinned glue for photo-etched parts. Adjust the soft photo-etched screen to the shape gradually and in small steps. Once it is painted, the barrel is nicely completed with a gentle rub of graphite or metallic pigment on the edges.
This is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a separate model. The glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
