A set of photo-etched parts for building modern fill barriers of the Bastion type in the Type.2 form. It serves for building the fortified perimeter of a field base, a checkpoint or a covered position for vehicles. It is not a kit of a vehicle — it is a scenic accessory for a diorama in 1:35 scale, combined with models of vehicles and figures.
Fill barriers consist of wire cages reinforced with welded mesh and lined with fabric. They are transported collapsed, opened out on site, joined into a row and filled with soil or sand. The result is a wall that will stop shrapnel and direct fire and that is erected within a few hours without heavy tools. The modular construction allows the segments to be arranged into walls, boxes and multi-level assemblies, which gives the modeler great freedom in composing a scene.
Cut the parts off with photo-etch scissors or cut them out with a scalpel on a hard surface and clean the edges up. Make the folds in a bender, or along a straight blade; reinforce small corners with a drop of cyanoacrylate. Degrease the metal and use a base color for metal, otherwise the finish will chip off during handling. Imitate the fill with paste, sifted soil or sand and even it out with thin spray coats once it has dried. Dust pigments on the lower part and light drybrushing of the edges will give the barrier convincing weathering.
The set is an accessory for building dioramas. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; a kit of a vehicle, glue, paints and the fill material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
