The pair of sheets draws out the so-called splinter camouflage on the hull, the turret and the barrel, that is, a system of straight fields that meet at sharp angles. With this kind of pattern the result is decided by the sharpness of the edges and the precise continuity of the fields across the dividing seams, and that can practically not be held with tape torn off by hand. The pre-cut shapes also guarantee that the pattern will be symmetrical on both sides.
This 152 mm self-propelled howitzer entered Soviet service at the end of the 1980s. It combines a chassis derived from the T-80 tank with a power unit of the T-72 series and a rotating turret with a long barrel, thanks to which it was among the most powerful artillery systems of the Eastern Bloc in its day. It serves to this day with several armies and can be seen in the most varied color schemes, from single-color to colorful field patterns.
The camouflage set covers the whole model, so the lightest shade is applied first and the darker tones are sprayed on gradually. Press the shapes down around their whole perimeter with a blunt stick once applied, so that paint does not run under the edge, and spray at right angles to the surface at low pressure. The material is semi-transparent, so you can see in advance where a part will sit and it can still be moved before being pressed down.
