Topol-M is a Russian missile system whose launcher is carried on a heavy multi-axle chassis. The point of such an arrangement is mobility: the equipment can be moved and fired from a different place than where it was last detected. The vehicle is long, has many axles and a large transport canister, so on a model it is a sizeable piece with large smooth areas.
Apply the masks onto a clean, degreased and dry surface and press the edge down with a blunt point. Spray thin coats, so that paint does not creep under the edge, and take the mask off shortly after it has dried. The large smooth areas of the canister reveal every irregularity, so sand them carefully and inspect them against the light before painting. Finish the cab and the glazing before the model is set on the chassis.
