The stencils are laid on an already painted model and serve as a pattern for spraying a camouflage scheme or tactical markings. The resulting pattern is part of the layer of paint, so it has the same degree of gloss as the surrounding area and no edge of carrier film arises on the surface.

The real subject

The M48A3 Patton was an American medium tank, that is, the version modernized to diesel power, which replaced the original gasoline engine. How the stencils are used

• The base paint must be fully cured, otherwise it will tear away when the stencil is removed
• Degrease the surface and clean the dust off, so that the stencil seats reliably
• On the rounded turret press the stencil down gradually from the middle, or warm it slightly, so that it follows the shape
• Spray at a right angle, at a lower pressure and in several thin coats
• Take the stencil off soon after the paint has set, pulling at a sharp angle
• Finally unify the pattern with varnish, and only then go on with patina, washes and dust shades
