This brass photo-etched set from Voyager Model replaces the plastic grilles over the engine deck of a model of the German Panther medium tank in the Ausf. A and Ausf. D versions in 1:35 scale. It is not a model of the tank but a refining accessory that gives the upper deck of the hull the realistic fineness that a plastic mold cannot manage. The set is intended for the Dragon kit.
The Panther was a German medium tank of the Second World War period, valued for its combination of armor, mobility and a long-barreled 75 mm gun. The Ausf. D version was the first production variant, and the Ausf. A brought a number of changes to the turret and the hull. The cooling grilles over the engine form a prominent and easily recognized feature of the engine deck.
Separate the fine grilles carefully from the fret and, if need be, shape them to a slight curve after the original. Use super glue applied in a small amount. The grilles look best if a dark shade of the engine bay is painted underneath them beforehand.
This is an accessory for a plastic model, not a stand-alone kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
