The set shows infantrymen of the German army of the Second World War in period gear and with period weapons. In 1:32 scale an adult figure stands about 55 mm tall, so these are among the larger figures and the detail of the face and the equipment can be seen on them.
Infantry figures in various poses, supplied unpainted. They serve to bring a diorama to life, to add to vehicle models in 1:32 scale and as figures for a model railway layout of a matching size. Before painting, the figures have to be separated from the carrier sprue and the mold parting line cleaned up.
Before painting, wash the figures in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry, so that no grease from production is left on the surface. Test the adhesion of the paint on an inconspicuous spot first and use a base coat, on which the paint holds considerably better. Apply the paint in thin coats and build the shades from the bottom up: the base tone first, then a dark diluted shade into the folds and finally highlights on the raised areas. It works well to paint the faces and the hands last, once the rest of the figure is finished and there is no risk of smudging.
The set suits diorama builders, figure collectors and beginners who want to try painting figures in a generous scale where mistakes are easier to put right than on tiny figures. A well-painted group of figures gives a scene the sense of scale and the story that vehicles alone never have. Paints, brushes and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
