Panther Ausf.G wheel mask 1:35 (Eduard, painting masks)

This is a set of self-adhesive painting masks from the maker Eduard in 1:35 scale. It is not a model but an accessory to a plastic kit of the German Panther Ausf.G medium tank. The masks are cut from thin kabuki tape and serve for accurately separating the color of the rubber tire bands of the road wheels from the metal disc, so that the spraying comes out crisply and without laboriously going over it with a brush.

The real subject

The Panther ranked among the most significant German medium tanks of the Second World War. The Ausf.G version was the most widespread production variant, with reworked armor of the hull and a number of details which set it apart from the older Ausf.D and Ausf.A versions. The tank was deployed from 1944 on the Eastern as well as the Western Front.

Use

• Clean the remains of molding flash off the wheels and degrease the surface.
• Lift the masks carefully off the backing and stick them exactly on the tire bands of the wheels.
• Spray the color of the tire bands, let it flash off and lift the masks off.
• For a clean edge, choose thin covering coats of paint.
