A set of German tank killers in camouflage coveralls, 1:35 from PANZER ART joins the theme of anti-tank infantry fighting into one item.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the PANZER ART line sums up the theme of German soldiers employed at close range against armored equipment. The figures wear one-piece camouflage coveralls and their poses are built so as to follow on from each other in a scene. The word Set in the name tells this item apart from the individually sold figures of the same theme.
Anti-tank fighting by infantry became in the closing stage of the war an ordinary part of the defense of towns as well as villages. The soldiers moved in twos and threes, one looking for the target and the other covering him, because after a shot the position had to be changed at once. A group of figures therefore makes sense in a diorama even where a lone figure would come across as random. The group can thus be laid out in movement, not only in a static stance.
Lay the figures out on the base first and look for a relation between them: the gaze of one should aim where the other is moving. Paint the coveralls together, so that the shades match, and leave the differences to the gear and the dusting. Apply dust and mud uniformly from the feet upward, otherwise the figures look as though each belongs in a different scene. Sand the bases to the terrain before grass or rubble comes into the scene.
