Assembled leaded glass windows have belonged to European buildings for centuries. Small panes joined by strips of lead appear on townhouses, on staircases, in chapels and above the gates of farm buildings, and they survive even where the surrounding masonry has long been repaired. On a diorama a window therefore gives away the age of a building faster than any other detail.
The accessory brings a printed subject of leaded glass window fillings in 1:35 scale. It serves to keep the window opening in a model of a building from staying empty and to give a scene depth. First clean the opening in the building up and free it of dust, or the filling will not sit flush.
