An injection-molded plastic kit of the LCA landing craft assault in the version used by the American Rangers, in 1:35 scale from Gecko Models. The model captures the craft fitted with rocket launchers for grappling hook lines as it was used during the Normandy landings. The package contains plastic parts, photo-etched parts, cord and a decal sheet with several marking options.
The Landing Craft Assault was a British wood and steel landing craft used to carry infantry to the shore. The American Rangers modified some examples with launchers for grappling hook lines in order to scale the cliff at Pointe du Hoc during the Normandy landings on June 6, 1944, where their task was to knock out the German coastal artillery.
We recommend painting the hull and the internal fittings of the craft before closing it up. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). For a faithful look, bring out the wooden and metal surfaces with a wash and drybrushing, and use the enclosed cord for the lines. The model shows to advantage on a stand or in a diorama with figures.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, figures and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
