This is a resin accessory to a model, not a kit in its own right. The set renders the supporting rack at the rear of the hull of the American M4A3 Sherman medium tank, used for storing the crew's equipment and stowage, in 1:35 scale. It is glued onto the base plastic kit. The maker PANZER ART is a Polish brand specializing in cast accessories for armored vehicles, and stowage and equipment on the hull belong among its main subjects. The accessory is one of the fastest ways to give a model a lived-in, used look.
Sherman crews commonly added storage space to their vehicles, because there was no room left in the hull for personal equipment, spare parts or supplies. Racks and frames at the rear of the hull were made by unit workshops or came about from whatever was at hand, and their form differed. At the rear of the vehicle the structure is clearly visible and markedly changes the outline, which makes it a rewarding detail on a model, especially if the tank stands in a diorama facing the viewer.
Wash the castings in warm water with dish soap, cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw and sand them with your airways protected. The thin parts of the rack are fragile, so work with them carefully. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). First test dry how the rack sits against the rear of the hull, and then level any gaps with filler. On painting: spray the rack in the color of the vehicle and the stowage in different shades, so that it is recognizable. Then comes a wash in the hollows, a dry brush on the edges and dust effects. Make the canvas parts matte, while the metal parts may carry slight scuffing.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
