An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet light amphibious tank in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the early Mod.1951 version with a gun with a multi-baffle muzzle brake. Besides the plastic parts, the box contains photo-etched parts for the engine compartment screens and a metal tow cable.
The PT-76 was a Soviet light swimming tank intended for reconnaissance and for crossing water obstacles. It was propelled by waterjets, thanks to which it could move on the surface as well. The Mod.1951 version carried the D-56T gun with its prominent multi-baffle muzzle brake. The tank spread to a number of armies and took part in many conflicts of the second half of the 20th century.
Finish and paint the running gear before closing the hull. Bend the photo-etched screens over a metal edge and bond them with cyanoacrylate glue. Glue the plastic joints with thin cement and use a primer before painting. You bring the Soviet green to life with light lightening of the surfaces, and fine-tune the weathering with washes and dust pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
