A photo-etched set of the Eduard brand in 1:35 scale focused on the hatches, the covers and the related deck details of the German fast torpedo boat S-38 (Schnellboot). It is not a kit but an accessory of thin brass sheet, which refines the deck elements of the boat with truer etched parts. The set follows on from the basic photo-etched equipment of the same boat.
The Schnellboot (known to the Allies as the E-boat) was a fast German torpedo boat of the Second World War with a wooden hull on a steel frame, deployed for night attacks on shipping. The S-38 line was among its widespread variants.
Nip the parts carefully out of the fret, shape the bends on a bender and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) or with epoxy. Degrease the sheet before painting and treat it with a primer for metal. With the hatches that look as though they move, take care over clean edges and a precise fit.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a model. The kit itself and paints are not included in the package.
