A photo-etched detail set from the Czech maker Eduard meant for models of the German Sd.Kfz.9 Famo heavy half-track tractor in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit of the vehicle but a set of fine sheet metal parts, which replace and supplement simplified plastic features with more precise photo-etched parts.
The Sd.Kfz.9 Famo was the largest German half-track tractor of the Second World War. It served above all as a heavy recovery and towing means for the heaviest equipment, including the recovery and transport of tanks. It was powered by a powerful Maybach engine, and thanks to its pulling power it was indispensable for engineer and repair units.
The photo-etched parts are cut from the brass fret with a sharp blade, formed with a bending tool and glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate). On half-track equipment the etching comes into its own on the fenders, the grilles, the tool mountings and the fine details of the load bed and the cab. Degrease the parts before painting and spray them with a base coat.
This is an accessory for a plastic kit, which the set does not replace. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
