The seventh part of the Star Decals line on armor in Bosnia is devoted to the machines of the Serbian units. According to the name the decals in 1:35 scale are intended for the M84 tank, the Hellcat and M36B2 tank destroyers, the M53/59 Praga self-propelled anti-aircraft system, the amphibious PT-76 light tank and the BTR-50PK armored personnel carrier.
The make-up of the hardware shows how varied the vehicle park in the Balkans was at the beginning of the 1990s. Beside the modern M84 it holds American tank destroyers from the end of the Second World War, which stayed in use in Yugoslavia for decades after 1945, a Czechoslovak-built anti-aircraft system on a truck chassis and amphibious machines of Soviet origin. A modeler can therefore show three different design schools together on a handful of vehicles, joined by a single common element, which is precisely the markings.
The older machines tended to be sprayed over again and again, so it pays to work with worn edges and an uneven shade of the base color. Keep the area under the markings smooth, though, and give it a coat of gloss varnish, otherwise a decal will not seat on a rough surface. Once it has dried, even the model out with a matte varnish and only then add dust and mud. How to work with the decals is described by the manufacturer on the packaging.
