An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary German heavy tank Tiger I in 1:35 scale from Tamiya, in the version of the mid production series. The model captures the characteristic angular outline, the massive turret and the heavy armor. The package contains parts for building the hull, the turret and the running gear, individual link tracks and a figure; the exact decal schemes follow from the manufacturer's part number.
The Tiger I was one of the most feared German tanks of the Second World War. It entered service in 1942 and its main weapon was an 88 mm gun derived from the famous anti-aircraft gun, which could destroy Allied tanks at long range. Heavy frontal armor made the Tiger tough, but its service was accompanied by high weight, demanding maintenance and limited series production. The mid series brought partial changes compared with the early examples.
Assemble and paint the running gear and the individual track links, and only then finish the hull with the turret. Glue the parts with a thin cement for plastic. Later Tigers carried Zimmerit paste on their armor and multi-color camouflage; after the base shade and a clear coat, pick out the detail with a wash and add dust and mud pigments on the tracks and the lower hull for a convincing patina.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
