This is a detailed ammunition set in 1:35 scale, not a model of a gun. It contains turned metal (brass) rounds for the American 105 mm howitzer. The metal construction gives the ammunition the exact cylindrical shape and a faithful metallic sheen that is hard to achieve in plastic.
The American 105 mm howitzer was among the most widespread artillery weapons of the Second World War and served long afterwards as well. It was used as a towed weapon and as the armament of self-propelled guns. The ammunition consisted of a projectile and a cartridge case with a propelling charge. Faithful rounds will bring an artillery position or an ammunition store to life.
Degrease the metal parts, level any burrs and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer to the smooth metal so that the paint holds. A combination of glossy cartridge cases and more matte projectiles with a fine wash looks very realistic.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a model of the gun are not included in the package.
