This photo-etched set in thin brass is an accessory for a plastic kit of the legendary American 6x6 cargo truck of 2.5 ton payload in 1:35 scale, the vehicle known as the workhorse of the Second World War. It is not a model but a set of fine metal parts.
On cargo trucks, photo-etched sets usually refine the fenders, steps, radiator grilles, brackets, tarpaulin loops, the drop sides of the cargo bed, mesh screens and small fittings. These elements are meant to be thin and sharp, which injection-molded plastic does not allow.
Cut the parts off the fret on a firm surface and make the bends along the etched grooves with a bending tool. Glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or epoxy. Degrease the metal and apply a primer before painting. Dust and mud effects suit the chassis and the fenders of this truck especially well.
