A vehicle in a finished scene says who was there. A poster on a wall says when, and in what mood. During the war a printed appeal was everywhere anything could be stuck: on the remains of house facades, on fences, on posts at crossroads, on warehouse doors. That is exactly why a paper sheet in 1:35 scale is an accessory with a disproportionately large effect — it takes up an area the size of a fingernail on a model and yet it sets the whole scene into a specific year and a specific side of the front.
It is color printing on fine paper with a sheet size of 19 x 11 cm. The fine paper matters here: in one thirty-fifth a real poster is as thin as a leaf and a coarser material would stand out on a wall like tiling. The motifs are cut out of the sheet as needed, so one sheet yields decoration for several scenes.
Before gluing, the cut-out motif is turned face down and the edges are thinned by running a fine abrasive over them. It is glued with thinly diluted PVA glue, which softens the paper and lets it follow the unevenness of the base. It is a good idea to tear a corner or leave it lifted — a perfectly straight rectangle on a wall looks like a sticker. Finally the same layer of dirt that the surrounding wall carries is drawn lightly over the poster.
This is a scenic accessory for a diorama, not a kit. The package contains no building, no fence and no vehicle.
