This item is not a kit of a vehicle; it is a replacement for the wheels, installed in a model that is already built or still being built.
The wheels are the first thing a viewer notices on a car model, and at the same time the place where plastic kits lose most often. An injection-molded rim has a simplified spoke pattern from the factory, rounded edges and often a visible mold parting line as well; a fine multi-piece rim simply cannot be made in an ordinary mold. A replacement rim solves that exactly where it shows the most, with a crisp spoke pattern, a legible lip and a deeper profile. The adapters that come with it are what tells a usable set from a pretty display-case ornament: they let the rims be seated on the hubs of the model without devising a solution of your own, even when the pin of the original wheel is different.
Take the original wheels off the model and dry-fit the hubs with an adapter before you glue anything, as the track has to be watched and so does the rim not clashing with the wheel arch. Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap before painting and spray them with a primer. Rims look best in a smooth metallic or glossy shade; spray them for an even surface rather than brushing them. The lip is often set apart in a polished metal shade. At the end, a discreet dark wash into the recesses between the spokes, as without it the pattern disappears.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The tires, the car model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
