The staff and liaison VW Kübelwagen can be built in 1:35 as a vehicle out of service. This set offers flat tires with hubcaps in the second pattern for that.
Responsibility details are not available.
The second rendition of wheels with hubcaps and with tires stripped of pressure, intended for kits of the German vehicle VW Kübelwagen. The designation flat tires describes the deflated rubber, and type 2 the tread pattern by which the set differs from the one numbered one.
The Kübelwagen came about as a cross-country machine for infantry divisions, but its most frequent work in the end was ordinary transport. It carried commanders between staffs, dispatch riders with reports, doctors and officers on inspection, and it stood parked in front of command posts, at field airfields and in rear-area villages. That is exactly why it appears in so many period shots and is also such a rewarding subject: it can fill an empty spot in a scene and at the same time give away what kind of unit moved through. A vehicle out of service with a flat tire also suggests that the situation had turned and that there was no time even to change a wheel.
A flat wheel has to sit on the ground with no gap and no visible edge. So work the area around the contact patch into the ground, leave the hubcap smooth and take the gloss off the rubber instead, as the eye reads the difference between the two surfaces at once.
